At the beginning of 2020, the historic 16th Street Baptist Church was preparing to revamp its brand and website in anticipation of an uptick in tourism after joining the Alabama African American Civil Rights Historic Sites Consortium. Though the pandemic put a halt on tourism, it further highlighted the church’s need to revive its online presence.
They were fortunate enough to have their rebrand done by some of the amazing design students at UAB. After helping them determine which direction to go in, we set out to design a website that was respectful of the church’s historic past, but that also reflected its present status as an active place of worship. We made sure that online sermons and secure giving were easily accessible for members who visited the website.
