The Food truck scholar podcast

My vision for The Food Truck Scholar’s website did not come to fruition without Dawn Media. Previous contractors provided a tiny fraction of the attention to detail and effort Kayla has provided. Not only did she listen to my needs and wants, but she was able to home in on what I was not saying and pushed for clarity so that I could have a website I could finally display proudly. Her organizational and content skills are superb. When the website was done, I found myself refreshing it several times just to take it all in —it was everything I wanted but so much more!!! You would be hard pressed to find a more skillful and intentional person to work with than Kayla.

You’ve boot-strapped it long enough.

It’s time your branding and website reflect where you’re taking your business, not where you once were.

You get more than a website and a logo.

When you work with us, you’ll also get:

Clarity

We strategically design your website around your vision for your company and your business goals. To make that happen we have to explore what those goals are. Our discovery process is designed to push for clarity so not only are we operating from a place of truth for you, you also now have the language to express your vision to the world.

Confidence

When you combine the skills and abilities you already have with the clarity from our design process, you can’t help but to be confident. When you have a brand and a website that attracts your target audience and you know  you also have the skills and knowledge to back up what they find, you’re going to carry yourself a little differently.

Excitement

And then of course as you see the pieces coming together, you’re going to naturally get excited! Excited about the success you’ll see, excited about the people you’ll be able to serve.

Here’s how it works…

The Family Home Package can take between 10-13 weeks to complete. Though we do the heavy lifting of designing and developing, this process is still highly collaborative. There’s information and content we’ll need from you to get started. We’ll also need your feedback in multiple stages of the process.

We’ve tried our best to make your responsibilities simple to fulfill. But since most tasks are dependent on the tasks preceding them, the process will ultimately move as you fast as you do.

DISCOVERY

We’ll start by setting goals for your website and brand. We’ll dig deep into your vision, offerings, and audience. We’ll identify any missing pieces in your branding. After doing some research, we’ll create a mood board to make sure we’re going in the right direction.

WIREFRAMING

Wireframes are outlines of the pages on your website. We use them to map out where the images, text, buttons, etc. will go on each page. Here, we’ll focus on getting the content layout and website copy approved before moving into design.

STRATEGY

Now that we know where we’re going, it’s time to make a plan! Here, we’ll create any missing brand elements. We’ll also collect website content elements like photos, videos, and additional information for the website copy.

MOCK-UPS

Once the wireframes are agreed on, we’ll turn them into high-fidelity designs that show exactly how the pages will look. You’ll be able to review the prototypes before we move onto development.

DEVELOPMENT

We’ll develop the website using a front-end developer on the WordPress CMS.

LAUNCH

Once you’ve given the final approval of your new site, we’ll make it live!

MAINTENANCE

Your website maintenance begins immediately after launch.

BE BHM

Kayla’s background in film, journalism and African-American Studies is invaluable. A mission-driven firm, her creative process includes the historical and present treatment context of the African American experience. She is able to offer quick, meaningful redirection of communication goals for identified audiences. For our BE BHM project, an initiative focused on supporting Black entrepreneurs in Birmingham, her storytelling direction resulted in 13,000+ views on Facebook (most in UII’s history) and a new brand equity for Urban Impact in the community and marketplace.
